Sustaining the Benefits of Natural Body Detox
Coming out from a full body detox program changed and satisfied is comparable to having accomplished one major feat. Not many people have the same will power, patience and determination to achieve what you had. And this should call for a celebration, but a few days after your complete your body detox diet, introducing other foods should be done slowly.
Eating a steak, baked potato and/or ice cream on the first day after your full body detox will only cause you great discomfort. At this point, it is very important to be smart with the food you eat and consume. You would not want to undo all your effort in your whole body detox and make yourself feel bad.
Pleasant Surprises
Despite the abundance of food temptations, one pleasant surprise that may make you real happy with your previous body detox program is that Chocolates (yes chocolates!), especially those dark semi-sweet chocolate is one definite detoxification superfood. Chocolates came from cocoa which got its name from “caca” meaning “food for the goods.” Cocoa beans as well as the resulting chocolate are rich in anti-oxidants. It also contains healthy fat such as the stearic acid which is converted in the body to become olic acid which are also found in olive and canola oils. This olic acid is very beneficial in heart disease prevention.
However, you must still keep in mind that most chocolates contains large amounts of sugar and fat so make sure that you use only dark semi-sweet chocolates for your desserts.
Yes, Coffee And Red Wine Too!
Coffee can greatly improve our body detox system’s abilities if taken in moderation. It also provides protection against most degenerative diseases. Coffee can be addictive though, so watch your coffee consumption to help in your whole body detox regimen.
Aside from coffee, drinking about 5 ounces of your favorite Red Wine contains the same amount of phenolic acid (200mg) similar to a one –and –one half ounce bar of dark semi-sweet chocolate. White wine also has the same protective phytochemicals similar to red wines but in smaller amounts.
Consuming a moderate amount of wine like a glass or two per week will significantly help in your body detox system.
Range-Fed or Grain-Fed Animals
After your whole body detox, you should slowly introduce meat back into your diet. This can be done up to three times a week, but instead of buying intensively reared meat, opt for those free-range, corn fed or grain fed meat. With these, you can be assured that the meat you are eating is not full of chemical additives and growth hormones.
Sustaining the benefits of your whole body detox program should not be a daunting task. Though food temptations are widely available, you should keep your will power and determination stick with your body detox diet.
