Gearing Up For Total Body Detox
Because of the possible unpleasant experience you may have on the first few days of your detoxification process, it is important to arm yourself with the proper information of the things to expect and how can you best handle them before you start with your total body detox.
Symptoms and Side-effects
The unpleasantness usually experienced on the first few days of a full body detox process are signs that the process is working, this will short lived and are common.
Some of the possible side-effects you’d feel on a body detox program are:
• tiredness
• headache
• pimples or skin itching
• indigestion or gas
• sinus or bronchial mucus
• loose bowels or constipation
• irritability, anxiety
• bad breath
• dark urine
• poor concentration
• confusion
• joint or muscle pain
However, these symptoms are not inevitable as it is possible that you may not get any of these symptoms. It would help if you cut back on alcohol, caffeine and salt intake as few weeks before you start your total body detox.
Gear Up before you Start Up
It is important to plan your total body detox when you have a few days off from work, or at least have it on a weekend as the side effects usually hit around the second or third day of your body detox program. These are the days when they will be most obvious so try not to drive or operate any machinery on the first few days of your detox diet.
One more reason why you would need rest at the start of your body detox program is that rushing about will only increase the body’s stress hormones. This will only make it harder for the body’s natural systems to detoxify, and these hormones may send a message to the brain to get a response of flight or fight.
Just by listening to your body and resting or drinking some extra water, you can easily get over the side effects caused by whole body detox programs.
Deep breathing is also one of the best ways to start relaxing and slowing down. This is actually an obvious method to prepare for a full body detox program. The deep breathing process increases your metabolism which will help your body expel toxins easily and readily, help you lose weight and also make you feel more energetic.
Having a positive mental attitude will also help prepare and control the production of brain chemicals and hormones and help you stay and stick into your body detox program and avoid toxin and chemical production.
However, you must also be aware of when it is not the right time to have a body detox program such as when a woman is pregnant and you are suffering from an illness.
